A bevy of Iowa youths will compete in the National High School Rodeo in Idaho this August. Randy Struthers of Graettinger in Boys' Cutting, Shirley Rust of Marshalltown and Debbie Law of Humboldt in Girls' Pole Bending, plus Bennie Reeves of Emmetsburg possibly in Bull Riding, headline the state contingent.

A long list of claims across funds including General Street Public Safety and Debt Service was approved and paid. Medals note Col Russell Jones Marengo native awarded eight medals after long military service. Whopper John Doud Victor caught a 22 pound catfish on vacation in Wisconsin.
