SMV Emblem Promoted To Prevent Slow Vehicle Rear End Collisions
Traffic studies from OSU engineers show two of three accidents involving slow moving vehicles are rear end. Nine of ten occur in daylight under good weather. Two thirds of such crashes and 10 percent of property damage arise from rear ends. The orange center SMV emblem with fluorescent border aids daytime visibility and should be mounted near vehicle center. The emblem is recommended by safety groups and is widely sold by implement dealers.
