Hand Injury In Combine Accident Near Emmetsburg
Bob Hanson suffered serious injuries to both hands when his auger pulley entangled in a combine while near Crippen corner north of Highway 17 on Tuesday evening. He freed his hands, shut off the machine, and walked to farm buildings where his father awaited with the idle equipment. He was taken to Emmetsburg hospital for treatment.

Sam Watson of Graettinger was elected president of the Palo Alto FFA Fair board as the first all FFA fair planned for August 11 and 12 at Emmetsburg fair grounds. Other officers include Bill Baxter and Don Rix with directors Ken Barringer and Harold Barringer. The 40 page fair book lists livestock judging, dairy, sheep, hog and beef events with exhibitor release on Friday. The Craettinger chapter will hold its livestock show during Labor Day celebrations.

Mystery Farm of Tindalls Near Graettinger
Last week a Mystery Farm was that of Mr and Mrs John Tindall living five miles east of Graettinger. They have leased the half-section farm from Mrs Jorgen Andersen and her sister Bertha Fogde for 13 years with grain and livestock as chief products. John is a prominent cattle feeder, managing about 50 head yearly. The couple, married in 1938, have a son Walter and daughter Teresa Ann. They attend Immaculate Conception church and are active in the community.
