The Woman's Society of Christian Service at Graetlinger Methodist Church marks its 25th anniversary. Charter members and past presidents will be honored at today’s meeting at 2 p m. The session previews an organizational meeting of the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
Service held October 7, 1940, with charter member names and deceased members listed. Bethel Lutheran circles meet Friday with Esther Verna Christensen Hannah Petersen Magdalene Miriam and Mary circles noted, including potluck at Ingham Lake and a July 23 meeting at 2 p.m.
A Lammers family reunion took place Sunday at Fort Defiance Park in Estherville. Attendees totaling 113 came from Council Bluffs Newell Fenton Algona Estherville Emmetsburg Ringsted Wallingford and Graettinger to attend the gathering.

Mr and Mrs Paul Gluesing of Van Horne announce the engagement of their daughter Jacquelyn Rae to Alan Norris son of Mr and Mrs Alvert Norris of Grachtin ger. The couple plan to wed September 5 in Van Horne and will reside in Cedar Rapids.
Kenneth Haisman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haisman, is stationed with the U.S. Army near Strankfort, Germany. His address is Pie. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christian and Mr. and Mrs. Alexandria Rostkowski recently visited a week with Mr. Christianson’s parents, Clarence Christianson.
Sandra Gunderson a Minot College student arrived Friday at her grandmother Mrs Eda Skattebo home with friends driving to Boone. The Gundersons left Sunday afternoon with her parents. Duanne Kropf and family arrived Sunday morning for the July 4 holiday. Pastor C B Gunderson announces his son David engagement to Ann Hennigar with plans for a July 10 wedding per The Selby Messenger. Mary Rasmussen and Beverly Egeland spent a few days over the Fourth in Eau Claire Wisconsin with Carl Rasmussen.
Clint Walker from Cheyenne shifts to non western comedy roles alongside Rees Hudson Doris Day and Tony Randall in Universal Martin Melcher Technicolor comedy Send Me No Flowers showing this weekend. He plays a Western millionaire who rekindles a college romance with Miss Day with a daring rescue on screen during introductory scenes.
Arnolds Park announces weekly talent contests at the Golden Gaslight Theatre. Ronald Robinson says contests run July 14 to August 11 with a final runoff on August 18 among five nightly winners. Tryouts open to all, auditions by Miss Esther Upperco, private or general sessions Saturdays. Prizes include novelty awards and a cash prize for the final winner.
Miss Lopereo stated that instrumentalists singers dancers magicians and comedians are expected for talent. The second place winner will be invited to participate.
