A Minnesota tale from Freeborn County recounts a couple riding at night who claimed a huge snake blocked the road. Local men hunted with guns and lanterns, only to uncover a prank: a large inflated tire tube shaped and lit to resemble a serpent, placed to frighten them.
A car crash on the main road left Hung Slmonsen severely injured in the chest and neck after striking a telegraph wire. Cunningham and Bligh reported the car shield broken, with the vehicle toppled and the passenger thrown. doctors expect a full recovery in a few days though pain remains intense.
