Evergreen park hosts July 3 events and farewell for Charlie Hartung

A large Evergreen park crowd enjoyed a July 3 ballgame and band concert with fireworks, a benefit for park activities. Baseball team Graettinger Mites bid farewell to catcher Charlie Hartung, who moved to New London with family, receiving autographs from 25 players and coach Stiles.

Bullheads Reported Catch at Ing ham Lake Last Week

Social Security Schedule Outlined for Fort Dodge District

The Fort Dodge Social Security district announces outreach hours. Emmetsburg courthouse sessions run 10:00 to 12:30 on Wednesdays July 11 and 2, August 8 and 22, September 5, 12, and 26. Estherville City Hall sessions run 1:00 to 2:30 on Tuesdays July 10 and 24, August 7 and 21, September 4 and 11. Appointments to see representatives may be arranged by writing to the Fort Dodge district office.

George Vetter of Ocheyedan died aged 103 years two months and 25 days. He was the eldest of eight children and lived a long life in his Iowa community.
