The Brujel Skrenes family reunion drew over five hundred people from Minnesota South Dakota and Iowa to Petersen grove at High Lake Sunday. Attendees from Blue Marsh Albert Lea Bricelyn Windom Frost and many Iowa towns enjoyed a day of picnics musical numbers and stories of pioneer days with Judge N J Lee delivering the afternoon address. John A Nelson of Wallingford chaired the gathering Qwen Lewis of Blue Earth was elected president and Oscar Paterson was re elected secretary.

Worthy Citizen John Thompson Laid To Rest at Lost Island
John Thompson longtime Ruthven resident died suddenly at his home from heart trouble last Friday evening. Born August 14 1857 in Hardanger Norway he came to the United States in 1881 and lived on farms in LaSalle County Illinois Palo Alto County Iowa before moving to Ruthven in 1920. He and Mable Johnson married in 1877 and had six children seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral was held July 1 at Lost Island Lutheran Church with Rev. M Mandsager officiating.
