Lightning Strikes Tree Damages Car in Jefferson

Mr and Mrs Bob Rogers of Jefferson had just retrieved their car from a body shop after repairs from a prior accident. A lightning strike split a sixty foot tree, causing the top portion to fall onto their car during Sunday evening. Mr Rogers was seated near a picnic table and had stepped away moments before the main section struck. This incident is humorously noted as a rare instance where smoking was beneficial to health.
