Prof H Summers says the only salvage is to cut infested alfalfa quickly then spray the field for the second crop using arsenite of soda or Paris green with molasses and water. A 60 gallon mix per field is advised with 50 gallons of Paris green solution per acre. Fields should be separated by a harrowed dust mulch or poisoned alfalfa strips between fields to prevent spread.
