Change In Palo Alto County Road Plan 1971 Approved
Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors approved a 1971 road program change moving the grade segment between Independence Township sections four and five. Emmet County plans a parallel paving change around 1972 to create continuous paving between Palo Alto and Emmet counties serving Ringsted area. The route becomes farm-to-market eligible, cuts two turns from Graettinger to Ringsted, and traffic is projected 205 to 270 cars daily after paving. The plan awaits Iowa Highway Commission approval along with semi annual treasurer and quarterly sheriff, auditor, and justice of the peace reports.
