Theodor Knudson and Clara Christina Simonsen were married yesterday at High Noon in Graettinger. Rev Simonsen officiated with about fifty relatives attending the ceremony and reception. May Simonsen and Andrew Duus served as attendants. The bride, daughter of Hans Simonsen, wore white silk net. the groom, blue serge. The couple will reside with the bride’s parents due to the father’s ill health. The couple are well known and favored in the area.
Mourners gathered for Hiram Babcock a Cedar Falls civil war veteran as services were hastily postponed when the casket was opened and officials found the wrong body had been delivered. The veteran died at the Old Soldiers Home and three other corpses were found on the same train in Marshalltown with baggage handlers mixing them up.
