Charles Brawner a former area resident died unexpectedly Sunday January at his home in Clear Water Minnesota of a heart attack He was born February 1 1908 in Reed Springs Missouri He married Anna Maus in 1927 at Sioux City He farmed most of his life including nine years northeast of Ruthven before moving to Clearwater in 1954 Immediate survivors include his wife three daughters Gloria Norma Larsen and Iona eight grandchildren and several brothers in Oregon and Spencer Funeral services were held Wednesday January 17 at the Clearwater Methodist Church with burial in Acacia Cemetery Pallbearers were Harold Apnew George Lumley George Stokes Kenneth Rassler Walter Baer and Robert Ferguson.

Morris Finnestad 77 of Emmetsburg died suddenly Monday morning. Funeral services were held Thursday at Bethel Church with Erling Hansen officiating and burial in South St Johns Cemetery near Cylinder. Pallbearers were Earnest Osking, Joseph Hansen, Andrew Vandervelde, D Mearl Seid, Lester Larsen, and Art Jub. He was born May 19 1800 at Hadger Iowa, lived in Palo Alto county all his life and married Susanna Heng February 28 1915 at Cylinder. He retired from farming ten years ago and moved to Emmetsburg. He was survived by his wife three foster daughters, five foster grandchildren nine foster great grandchildren four brothers and four sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two infant sons, his parents, a sister and a brother.

James Nelson returned from California after several months away. Mrs L G Sevats on arrived Perry by train at 6 am Saturday visiting daughter and family in Long Beach California. Max Seratson departed on Christmas Day for about three weeks.
