Minutes show approval of the secretary reading bank notes for Christmas baskets and a teas report. The group opened a raffle after basketball games to raise funds, planning to sell pop and candy. A nominating committee was chosen to select new officers and campaign managers for candidates. Cookbooks were brought up to date.
The program featured a mock executive meeting run by the officers. Each officer, including Ruth Ann Bisgaard as the reporter, gave a brief talk on their duties and responsibilities.
Graettinger school officials announce the perfect attendance lists for the second nine week period and the first semester. The long roster includes seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen with names such as Bernadine Boecker, Steve Graettinger, Virginia Bradley, Leonard Cornelius, Dale Anderson, Robert Ward, Mary Mahan, and many more. Mr and Mrs Herbert Lancaster of St Paul Minnesota welcomed a daughter on Saturday January 18 The baby was named Jean Margaret and has two sisters Lynne and Betsy Grandmother on the paternal side is Mrs Margaret Johnson of Grachteringe
The Ames Wallingford area PTA meeting featured hostess teams led by Mrs. Ralph Torresta and others. Gladys Scobel read a Patriotic Creed from Michigan leader Russel Manby. Arne S. Bown of Ringsted presented slides on his 1962 Russia tour. Grade 4 earns a book prize for membership. attendance tallies show 28 parents for Grade 4 and 25 for Grade 6. CARE project funds sent to multiple international programs. February meeting slated one week early due to sectional basketball.
Emil H. Luett a 70 year old retired postman who served patrons in and around Baldwin is honored for his decades of service with the Su Vgars community.
The Wallingford Lutheran Church held its annual meeting on Wednesday evening electing officers including vice president John Thomas secretary Trygve Larsen and treasurer Silas Lundy. Pastor Robert E Glaser installed officers and noted additional committee appointments while fifty five women attended the first women’s group meeting with a candle lighting ceremony and panel discussion on Phi study. A Wallingford Phone Company meeting followed with directors elected Herb Nielsen and Don Richard and hostesses serving doughnuts and coffee.
