Iowa polio cases in 1955 were below the five year average but polio remains a problem for 1956. The Salk vaccine helps but full immunization will take years. Parents are urged to contact physicians now and use vaccine supplies promptly. The March of Dimes funds vaccine and aid through the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.
Community residents in Graettinger and nearby areas will gather at the local gym next Monday night for a March of Dimes Auction to raise funds for Palo Alto drive. Proceeds support ongoing research and patient aid as the Foundation continues its work. Harvey B. Hanson RA 17439387 serves with the army in Japan.
