Ringsted citizens witnessed a hotel blaze that gutted the building and its contents. Fierce winds and a gale threatened nearby structures but the town rallied. the landlord, Mr. I, faced a heavy loss and it was unclear if another hotel would be erected.
The Champion notes Mia Carrie Mitchell Rostyns has taught at Rodman High School and will assume a new position in the Britt schools, per local report. The move aligns with district staffing updates.

At the Gathole church Monday morning January is recorded the marriage of Flora Pann to Join Swift both of this city. Father Kelly performed the ceremony. The bride wore cream silk and was attended by Susla Swift. the groom by Wid Swift. The bride is a popular daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Win Penn. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ht. 3. Swift and works in the livery and stable business. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the groom's home. The couple plan visits to Bathville and Sioux City before beginning housekeeping in the groom's home.
The Hoprig creamery stockholders held their annual meeting at Hoprig on Monday. Attendance was good and the election named Goo Lorimer president and Goo Bosotd as secretary. The company reports earnings of 81 pounds for the past year and notes strong activity in milk and butter production.
The Farmers Giann company held their annual meeting on Saturday afternoon. Twenty peers voted in favor to retain the stock and board, while the rest opposed. Manager A Ketchen will remain with the company for another year.
At high noon on Wednesday April 4th, at the home of Mr and Mrs H T Moyer, their daughter Loulanto allied with Aly ert Hillmer in a ceremony attended by relatives and friends. Reverend Wealey officiated. The couple will establish a farm two miles east of Tervil. After dinner, hosting family and local friends joined in well wishes for a happy married life.
The Knights of Pythiae hosted their annual public installation and banquet at Cadle Hall on Tuesday evening. After installation there was a brief program with speeches led by Knight Mollison and responses by Rev Kohn, followed by further speeches. The evening concluded with a banquet and recognition of the Knights’ reputation as entertainers.
Graettinger Telephone Company stockholders met Wednesday afternoon and re elected directors Jobo Graettinger Anton Christopherson B Klasnbast Tom Brekke PB J Hession P O Jackman and S J Guerdott from last year. Committees were named and to report at the next meeting.
The American Savings Bank held its annual meeting with stockholders last week and reported a surplus of 7700 dollars. Elected officers include J A Spies as president Pred Spies as vice president J B Gombe as cashier and J A Sples along with BE A Baumeurtner John Grasttinger Larsen Fred Sples B T Osher and JB Lambe named directors.
