Local Christmas decorating contest judges moved to Wednesday night

The judging date for the local home Christmas decorating contest was shifted to Wednesday night after being announced for the previous weekend. At least two homeowners were unaware of the change and their displays were not lit during judging, and the Times could not announce the shift in time.

Wallingford And Graettinger Winners In Times Campaign

Graettinger residents Bert Anderson and Ed Herke, plus Harvey Anderson of Wallingford, returned from Leech Lake with a limit of fish. A twelve inch snow fell New Year’s, winds caused drifting and some roads to be blocked, and temperatures dropped to five below. The death of John Osher of Wallingford marks a family milestone for eleven. The Popowich family plans to move to Wisconsin. Alf Nicholson, Palo Alto veteran, is dead. A. T. Hereim bought the Trego restaurant in Graettinger. Lost Island Creamery will build a new creamery. Local high school team beat Halfa 21 to 15. Hogs sold for 9.60 per hundred. Hans Westengard began duties as Emmetsburg supervisor. A calf born without a lower jaw at Curtis Espey’s near Hartley raises feeding questions.
