Corn Revenue Loss Figures Highlight Heavy 1945 Crop Shortfall
A reader supplied Times figures showing a sharp drop in corn revenue across a quarter section. Last year 1200 bushels yielded $1200, while this year 850 bushels at 71 cents per bushel brought about $600. If the 60 acre base holds, the article estimates a potential $1,500 average loss per quarter and a total near $200,900, due to lower yields and early frost, despite some fields showing better outcomes in 1946.
