Parcel Post Expands To Eight Zones In New System
The new parcel post law allows any U S resident to mail wares under eleven pounds and six feet in length and girth. Packages must be carried to a post office by the sender and delivered by wagon to their destination. Zone rates apply across local and distant towns, with maps and a guide book available for 75 cents. Perishables and hazardous items are restricted. Farmers gain by direct shipment of produce and eggs can be sent cheaply via parcel post.
