Catholic Bazaar Draws Crowd and Big Proceeds
The Catholic Ladies Aid bazaar in this city on Wednesday drew a large crowd. A dinner and suppers were served at Hawkeye basement, and a play A Proposal Under Difficulties by home talent impressed the audience. Performers included Miss Ellen O Connor Gertrude Montgomery and Messrs Will Bryan and W L O Connor. Attendees enjoyed solos by Tressa Montgomery and Gertrude Mahan plus readings and child performances. The bazaar, praised for planning, netted 250 dollars.

Estimable Irish Lady Mrs Leonard Dies at Home
Mrs John Leonard died at her home after a six month illness. The long Catholic funeral was led by Rev Father Kelly at St Jacob’s cemetery. Born in 1837 near Bandon Ireland she married John Leonard in 1858 and moved to Graettinger in 1881. Survived by three sons Con Michael and John, with one sister in Ireland.
