Iowa High School Accreditation and Rural Tuition Policy
The 34th Iowa General Assembly declared every public school pupil entitled to a high school education and allowed rural pupils to attend any high school with tuition paid by the home district. Schools must meet equipment, organization, curriculum, and staffing standards and be approved by the State Department of Instruction to legally collect tuition. Our district council notes we meet current standards but must improve, especially adding space for more than forty students per room to maintain accreditation for next year.
