Dr. Creno A. Shiley, age 69, died January 30 at his winter home in Naples after a heart attack. Born near Wallingford in 1904, he graduated from Estherville High School in 1925 and from the University of Iowa Dental School in 1932 after a year at Drake University. He practiced in Graettinger for 34 years, retiring in 1966, and served on multiple local boards. He was an honorary life member of both the Iowa and American Dental Associations and active in Lion’s Club and Rotary Club.

Estherville VFK honors All-State football star on first team
The Estherville VFK member earned All-State Acknowledgment on the Iowa All-Time All-State High School squad. He belonged to Bethel Lutheran in Greettinger and later Grace Lutheran in Spirit Lake.
