Chas F Wier longtime pioneer citizen of the community died suddenly on Saturday morning after a stroke while asleep. He was born January 26 1856 in Oxwero New York and died on his sixty ninth birthday in Story City Iowa. He came to Iowa with his parents in 1865 and grew up here. He married Eliza Ballard February 22 1876 and had seven children, with one infant loss and others living in Graytown, Denver, and Story City. Ward H Noble assumed control of Johnson Grocery Store Friday with plans to add stock and expand. Financial news notes a course shortfall and possible fund-raising efforts for guarantees this year.
