Osgood Debates Labor Question. Vernon Society Loss

Osgood Literary Society sent a delegation to Boot school house for a joint debate with South Vernon society on the labor question. Judges favored the affirmative. Friday at R A Carr home in Vernom Township marked his birthday celebration with social hours and a feast. A burglary attempt on Lamborn & Bauman’s store failed. Revival services continue to attract larger crowds.

In West Walnut the youth enjoyed an ice skating event hosted by Mr P. Doyle and Bl Craven. The program, presented by the West Walnut Literary group, featured a well received performance with a late start around 9 p.m. and plans for a future continuation.

Blizard Quietly Sweeps Emmetsburg Tuesday Evening

A small blizzard struck Emmetsburg Tuesday evening without warning. Residents including D EF Colting and son, Isaac Stewart visiting his brother, and Mrs John Nelson were seen about town. Many attended a Friday night dance while others such as J Jeppeson and H J Johnson worked on local jobs. I Hazen and son Lemuel traveled from Superior, with Hazen recovering from a scaffolding fall three weeks earlier.
