Local merchants boost the Graettinger Trading Stamp program with December prize drawings offering 400 in U S Savings Bonds plus 40 free turkeys two free movies and candy and a Santa visit. They urge shoppers to buy locally to support community churches schools friendships and services with no extra cost to spend at home benefiting all.
The library offers new fiction notably Mila 18 by Leon Uris, detailing the Warsaw Ghetto siege. Central figures include Alex Brandel and Dr. Paul Bronski among others. A High Lake Farm Bureau Club visit reviews reading programs and library facilities with members listed. New club members Patty Schany, Donna Suss, Kevin Anderson, and Jerry Wikert noted.
