Wallingford Fair Promises Large Prize Show of Prizes

Wallingford residents plan a royal two day event on December 13 and 14 featuring a short course and home talent show. Prize listings include dairy cattle, beef cattle, hogs, poultry and crops with merchandise and cash awards from local businesses and merchants. Estherville Man Killed by Train at Sanborn Night

Frank TR. Eddy, a prominent automobile salesman from Estherville, was fatally injured when his car was struck by a refrigerator car at a Sanborn, Minnesota crossing during a flying switch. He died early Thursday morning after being found by a deputy sheriff. No witnesses. Details uncertain as to how the accident occurred.

Local Firms Launch Graettinger Business Drive

Fifty two Graettinger business and professional men organize a year end sales push to promote the town as a premier trading and market center in northwest Iowa. The Times touts Graettinger markets for grain livestock and poultry and notes lower grocery prices and higher egg payments locally. A November report cites eggs paid ten cents per dozen higher here than a nearby town. A December 11 auction by G B Newton showcases livestock and machinery. A box social will be held in Maple Hill school district No 7 Twelve Mile Lake township on Tuesday December 12. The school lies two miles west of Gravel Pit school. Amelia Lippert Weds Edward Bartels in Ute Iowa

Miss Amelia Elaine Lippert and Edward H. W. Bartels of Ute Iowa married last Wednesday November 29 at the John Lippert home at high noon. The bride a former teacher and nurse trained in Sioux City wore a white satin dress with pink and white bridal roses. The groom wore navy and will reside on his farm in Ute. Kathryn Lippert and Carl Bartels attended. The ceremony included a pink and white decor theme and a three course wedding dinner. The bride is highly respected in Estherville area for teaching seven years and business college training. The couple plan to make their home in Ute Iowa.

Miss Talcott Talks To Farm Bureau Clubs

Eight groups of Palo Alto County women met with Miss Avis Talcott Iowa State leader to discuss farm bureau home demonstration issues. Meetings were held across Ellington Highland Walnut Lost Island Lost Island Rush Lake Fern Valley Rodman and Freeman townships. Topics included organizing programs and county projects with lines of work like clothing nutrition and home management. They plan a county wide project by January 4 and continue monthly study meetings. Europe seeks ship carpenters and cabinet makers.
