Noble Woman Dead After Typhoid and Poisoning
The death of Mrs. Chas Brady, residing southwest of town, occurred last Thursday evening after two weeks of illness including typhoid and complications. Despite medical aid from Fort Dodge Ruthven and Terrill, she died and was mourned as a devoted Christian and former Lake Center Sunday School teacher. Funeral Sunday at Ruthven Methodist with pallbearers M Mason Ed Evens R Whiteford Thos Debolt Grant Ralph Smith. Born January 17 1870 she married Chas Brady in 1881 and left four living children Elma Taylor Harley Leta and Jaford Brady. The Times extends sympathy to the family. The Valley Junction mayor notes saloons will close at 7 PM with closure postponed indefinitely.

Spirit Lake Bigamist Arrested After City Wedding
Spirit Lake resident Ed Campbell of Spencer was arrested two hours after marrying Phoebe Schuneman on Sunday afternoon. Deputy H A Wilsey of Dickenson county nabbed him following a tip from Spencer relatives who learned of the planned ceremony. Campbell had posed as a single man and already had a wife and child at Spencer, shocking the bride and her family. He was lodged in the county jail pending further action.
