Graettinger Labor Day Horse Show and Parade Planned
Plans are set for Graettinger Labor Day weekend with a Sunday afternoon horse show at Evergreen Park starting 1:30 PM and a 1 PM grand parade through downtown. Ten classes include children’s ponies, ladies western, cloverleaf races, and stock horse with cash prizes and ribbons. Buck Vandervelde will announce, Dean Philson ringmaster, R. E. Ellison judge, local committee Marcus Geil Robet Dawson and Earl Erickson. Admission 50 and 25 cents with gate prize tickets. advance sales ongoing. This is Graettinger’s second annual show held with the two day celebration. Art B. Thomas midway, FFA livestock and FHA exhibits follow Sunday evening.

Labor Day Talent Show Plans With Prizes and Acts
Entries are being received for a Labor Day talent show with three divisions 18 years and under 14 years and over and western and novelty. Prizes total 111 dollars with first places 10 25 25 for respective divisions and other payouts. Afternoon starts 1 30 p m and runs until all perform while the evening finals begin at 8 p m. Acts include Dick and his Rainbow Twirlers Armstrong and The Melody Ramblers Fort Dodge with other attractions for all ages.

Regulations Set For 57 Waterfowl Season
The Iowa State Conservation Commission announced a 70 day 1957 waterfowl season from October to December 18 with daily hunting from one half hour before sunrise to sunset. Daily duck bag four with eight in possession after day one. hooded merganser one in possession. Closed seasons on Ross Geese grebes rail coot dove woodcock wood duck swan. Goose bag five with at most two Canada Hutchins Cackling or Whitefront per limit. entire bag may be Blue or Snow Geese. Open Wilsons Snipe Jackknife Oct 5 to Nov 25 with bag eight. Also five American and red breasted mergansers daily ten in possession separately from other ducks.
