The DHIA hosted a picnic and dairy meeting at Ronald Chapman home on Wednesday August 1. Twenty six competitors entered Holstein judging with Weasley Nielson top scorer and Ronnie Chapman second. Three new board members were elected: Ronald Chapman Maurice Partridge and John Lewers. A cow calling contest for women yielded prizes to Juanita Chapman Mrs B G Berkeland and Mrs Mike Leners. Prizes for youth races were donated by local creameries Winters Dairy and others. ice cream and milk provided by Lehmanns and Gracttinger Creamery. Duane Meling organized and deserved credit for the event.
