Leaf Scorch Reported in Iowa Trees from Heat and Drought
A. H. Epstein of Iowa State University warns that recent hot dry weather has caused widespread leaf scorch in Iowa trees. Symptoms include yellowing browning and die back of leaves especially on oaks maples and sun exposed sides. Preventive care and maintaining even moisture can help but once scorch starts little can be done beyond pruning dead branches.
