Emmet County Farmers Protest High Land Valuations

Emmet County farm land and building valuations are sharply higher than neighboring counties, triggering a protest rally and the formation of a Farm Taxpayers association at the courthouse. Members claim the base land value per acre and building assessments are unjust, urging equalization across counties to prevent overtaxation and disincentives to farm improvements. Lara Thomsen and F. E. Rosendahl head the new group, planning an executive committee with three more members.
