Paving Push for Town and County Roads Growth
The North Town Pike leads Iowa paving efforts with a strip from Charles City to Algona and a 24 mile pave from Sheldon east. Counties push to pave main highways as gravel fails under heavy traffic. The Atlantic Yellowstone Pacific Highway aims to cross via North Town Pike, funded by automobile taxes and Federal Aid, promising long term savings over gravel.
