Rev. M. E. Cathcart, formerly pastor of the M. E. church in Graettinger in 1918, died in Minneapolis. He spent time in Cuba with his son-in-law in mineral mining and was known for outspoken opinions on tonics. Near Fatal Auto Accident On Spirit Lake Road
Four Jackson youths aged fifteen to twenty were injured when a Ford Sedan failed to negotiate a sharp turn past Sand Bar Bridge on Spirit Lake Jackson road. In Emmetsburg township the Joyce schoolhouse, modern and two years old, burned between midnight and 5 am on Thursday. Loss includes classroom, manual training, domestic science, Victrola, furniture, tools, and 23 pupils’ books. Insurance ranged 800 to 900 dollars. nearby district schools and a garage on L.
