Iowa Senate action on budgets and appropriations debate
The Senate backed ouster votes and sent an appropriation bill for Okoboji sewer work, with the federal share around 235,000 and the state roughly 53,000. A separate $175,000 CCC and conservation bill faced delays in the House as governors warned the figure might be trimmed. The session weighs budget adequacy for Board of Control institutions and education amid resistance to truck legislation and a motor fuel bill aligning Iowa with regional specs. The Senate’s reversal on Senate File 208 appears driven by political expediency.
