Estherville’s Founding Heroine and Early Town Life
The Ridleys helped establish Estherville naming the town after a white woman in honor of an aunt. She lived here from arrival until 1918, active in the Woman's Relief Corps and WCTU, donating land for a church, purchasing a Liberty bond, and witnessing the town's growth from a river settlement to a thriving city.
