Pearl Noble Dies After Auto Crash Near Ames
Miss Pearl Noble 88 daughter of J F Noble Emmetsburg and sister of W H Noble and Mrs D R Gardner Graettinger was fatally injured when her car skid on icy pavement and struck a tractor trailer near Ames Saturday on her way to Des Moines She never regained consciousness and died Monday afternoon at 2 45 The accident occurred about nine o clock Saturday morning One music pupil and a friend from Hubbard escaped injury The funeral was held Wednesday at noon at Graettinger Congregational Church Rev Cornell Rev Pfaltz and Rev Pruitt officiated The remains were buried at Valley View cemetery Pallbearers included six nephews The Hubbard schools closed for the funeral Noble was born January 27 1901 educated Graettinger High School Class of 1918 Cornell College Mt Vernon and later taught music in several Iowa towns She was a gifted musician and taught in Estherville Graettinger Akron Plover Orient and Hubbard She leaves father J F Noble Graettinger Graettinger sister Edith Addison Belvidere SD Lillian Jackson Amery WI Ruby Gardner Olive Noble Emmetsburg and brother W H Noble Graettinger Her mother Mrs LP Noble died in Graettinger May 1926 The family had lived in Graettinger and moved to Emmetsburg in 1928 The death shocked friends in Graettinger and Emmetsburg and her family was due to an errand of mercy when the crash happened while en route to Des Moines

Former Graettinger Barber Victim of Gas Death
George Grant a 35 year old barber at 1406 Dace avenue Sioux City was found dead in his shop Monday from illuminating gas. Coroner ruled the death accidental. Nick Ghida entered the back room and detected the gas escaping from a small hot water heater.

Pioneer Iverson, Graettinger Pioneer, Dies After Illness
Leva Iverson, a well known Graettinger pioneer, died Sunday evening at his home after a two week pneumonia illness. Funeral services were held at 1:30 at home and 2:00 at the First Lutheran church with many neighbors attending. He lived in Emmet and Palo Alto counties, was born January 30, 1869, and moved to Graettinger 16 years ago. He and wife Lis Elin Johnson had four children and five brothers. He suffered a serious injury in 1927 but recovered to continue his active life. He was a devout Lutheran and a respected, hardworking citizen.
