The auditing of Elkhart township trustee George S. Cobb’s accounts is nearly finished and a special advisory board session Thursday morning will disclose the report to the press. Rumors allege a potential shortage of six to seven thousand dollars as vouchers reportedly disappeared from the courthouse. Cobb denies a shortfall, says he may be held accountable if vouchers are found, and vows to settle if left penniless. Cobb has held the trusteeship since the death of John B. Walk and properties include a Wawas..see cottage, a South Main residence, a boat, and a bicycle shop. Bond stands at 12 000 with sureties Wm. Whetten and Major P. Cobb.
