The 44th annual Elkhart County Fair day aims to cover exhibition expenses with a satisfying race program. P. M. Rogers led Goshen and Goshen City Bands on the grounds, with the City Organization of Elkhart planning tomorrow’s activities.

Survived by parents, brother Clark W Thornton, sister Grace Thornton aged 16. He was educated in Elkhart schools, a high school graduate, and attended Goshen college.
Relatives report Eli Davis, aged man, critically ill at Marion soldier's home. Will Davis, his son, travels to Marion after a telegram announcing his father's illness. Davis's wife died last winter in a coal gas incident that left the couple found in their home.
The Lyric Theater presents the vice photoplay The Little Girl Next Door tonight and tomorrow with matinee and evening shows. Manager Pole incurs heavy costs to bring the attraction for county fair visitors direct from major cities. Admission is 25 cents and early arrival is advised to avoid crowds. Tomorrow matinee is recommended for women. No one under 16 admitted.
Jessie V Bertch sues William H Bertch in the superior court for divorce alleging habitual intoxication and cruelty. She seeks custody of two daughters Vivan 4A and Virginia 21 and support. The couple married September 20 1902 and separated May 31 last. Attorney Daniel B Nye of South Bend filed the complaint and notes Bertch is jailed in South Bend.
County commissioners yesterday adjourned for the September session with little business transacted aside from approving bills.

The Goshen district of the Northern Indiana M E conference gathers at the new Nappanee M E church next Monday and Tuesday for a major religious meeting.
