Barney Phillips, a poultry buyer, drove the wagon loaded with poultry and eggs. The horse was stricken with spasmodic colic and died almost instantly. The wagon was left at a farm while Phillips sought another horse in Gsh en.

Runaway Horse Frightens Benton Men Near Train
Two Benton residents Musser and Rockatool narrowly escaped a runaway near the village while en route to Goshen for a W O W meeting. The frightened horse dashed down an embankment, one rider was knocked from the buggy, but both escaped injury as the horse was recovered and the trip resumed. Orrin Wallace, accused of impersonating a government officer, was discharged after a hearing in Indianapolis. Fall from grape arbor injures Louis E. Yeakel
Louis E. Yeakel of 507 South Seventh Street was seriously injured when he fell from a grape arbor at home, dislocating and fracturing his left arm and suffering a severe head bruise. He remained unconscious for about fifteen minutes before medical aid arrived. Dr. Becknell treated him and deemed no lasting damage.
