Amos Baumgardner and Joseph Brown, the same person, are accused of stealing nine horses seven buggies and a dozen sets of harness since March 1. The two year old daughter of Isaac Baker living west of town fell from a chair yesterday and struck her head on a sofa causing a deep gash. Dr. A G Kaufman attended the case.
Dr E Buckley led a citizens canvass and a social sciences meeting at the Methodist church parish. About fifty attended and adopted a University association constitution and elected officers to guide discussions on lessons 1 to 12 with meetings on the second and fourth Mondays at 7:30 p.m. The June 11 session will pick a permanent meeting place.
Bristol area berry growers move shipments to Chicago and Milwaukee as local supply floods the market. Prices plunge from $1.50 per crate in the morning to 75 cents later, with quart prices dropping to 5 to 7 cents. Growers blame dealers for overstock and vow to ship future harvests elsewhere.

The Elkhart school case in St Joseph circuit court was continued in South Bend last evening and is expected to reach the jury Wednesday evening. Commencement exercises for Elkhart county schools will be June 10 at Burns Park. County Superintendent Ellis plans a proper event. A fishing party including A B Witt L A Dennett H C Wilson and George Krutz returned from Bearlake with 267 fish. John Guilt, sought on a warrant for assault and battery, has fled the town.
