Judge Wilson Increases Court Pay And Raises Bailiff Rate
The LaGrange Democrat notes Judge Wilson granted April term allowances. Bai tf Balycott and Court Stenographer Kenham received pay for 23 days of court, regardless of actual days. The clerk and sheriff now receive 23 days pay, mirroring the bailiff and stenographer, and the bailiff’s daily rate rose from 1.50 to 2.00. Judge Wilson will not seek re election.
Rogers band performs third open air concert in court park
Last evening in court park Rogers' band gave its third outdoor concert drawing a large crowd of music lovers. The program featured popular and operatic selections with overtures from William Tell and Omeron noted by attendees. A special interurban car from Elbert carried concertgoers to the event.

Fire loss adjusted quickly for Shipshewana merchants
Concordia and other insurers represented by Hyde and Brooks settled a heavy fire loss in Shipshewana. J E Sunthiemer had 4500 with Home and 2590 with London Liverpool and Globe on destroyed stock. Death of Mrs. Washington Southerlin in Warsaw
Mrs. Washington Southerlin died at her home in Warsaw after a lingering illness. She was 35 years a Baptist member and survived by her husband, one daughter, and six sons. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 o clock from the family home.
