The Lesh Stock farm hosted a bustling triangular meet among Goshen Elkhart and South Bend high schools. Spectators packed the grounds despite rain as Goshen's Frank Yoder won the 100 yard dash and 234/220 yard events, with Elkhart and South Bend athletes placing in multiple races and field events.

Fire destroys Rev Geininger barn on Mid dlebury road
The Elkhart area barn at Rev Samuel Geininger’s on Mid dlebury road burned Friday morning. Fire started in the mow with over a ton of hay. A grainery with oats corn chopfeed a buggy and other items burned. Animals were saved and the fire may have been started by tramps sleeping in the barn. Estimated loss 300 for barn 400 contents with 175 insurance. Rev Heininger is in Missouri. Mrs Samuel Sala fell from a wagon gear seven miles west of Goshen dislocating her left elbow and receiving medical care from Dr. Kaufman.

Rogers Goshen Band and Orchestra adds a twenty piece ensemble to perform in all grand concerts and daily specials at Chautauqua New York from July 18 to August 27. Soldata from New York and Boston will sing in the oratorio of the Messiah in August. A new chamber music feature from Bach Haydn Handel will be highlighted. Many Goshen residents plan to stop at the resort en route to the Pan-American exposition.

Death of Chauncey W. Stevens Former Goshen Resident
Chauncey W. Stevens, longtime Goshen resident and early founder of The Goshen Times in 1856, died in Eaton Rapids Michigan at about 76. He left Goshen thirty years ago, ran a paper at Eston Rapids, and lived on a farm near there. His remains return to Goshen to be buried beside his wife in Oak Ridge cemetery. funeral plans are not completed. He was an uncle to Chauncey D. Sherwin.

A small tornado and hail storm south west of South Bend Thursday evening damaged the Robinson farm. A large building was lifted 500 feet with several smaller structures demolished in its path. No injuries reported.

Second Nellie Berger Case Reported in Argos
The Rochester Sentinel notes a second Nellie Berger case. 16- year old Ors Atkinson of Morocco Indiana vanished April 28 and surfaced in Argos in ragged clothing and exposed to the elements. Tuggle, son of a Morocco minister and formerly at Mascot Photo Chicago, sent a telegram to the girl's parents then disappeared.

Bond Signed for Daisy Deardoff Madlem in Federal Case
Mrs Rebecca Deardoff signed a $500 bond for Daisy Deardoff Madlem to appear before the federal grand jury in Indianapolis on the second Tuesday in November.
