William Twomey 1820 1907 Goshen Merchant Dies in Pneumonia
William Twomey a longtime Goshen boot and shoe merchant aged about 87 died at his Seventh and Jefferson streets home after a week of pneumonia. Born in Ireland August 15 1820 he came to America aboard the ship Franklin which was wrecked off Cape Cod in 1848. He settled in Goshen in 1855 and built a retail business with his wife Mary. Surviving: wife two sons William and Richard two daughters Agatha Clifford and Rose Jordan six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
