Dr. G W Kirby loses money and a fine gold watch after a third burglary attempt in Goshen. Police report two bold burglaries occurred in Goshen last night with details pending.
Thieves entered Edward Riggle's home between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. through a cellar window scouring dressers for valuables. They took a diamond pin, purse, missionary box, coat, shoes, and a pocket knife while neighbors saw five men nearby and two split up near the Kirby and Irwin homes.
Arthur J. Sweet of Kalamazoo, an authority on the subject, spoke to an audience of 70 people in Elkhart about an ornamental lighting system.

The jury returned a verdict for the defendant in the $50,000 libel suit brought by Theodore Roosevelt against William Barnes. The panel believed that Roosevelt’s charges were all true.
Indianapolis mayor Bell announced that the city will not permit any boxing exhibition the day before the speedway race. The statement was made yesterday and reflects the administration’s intent to restrict boxing events around the event schedule.

Participating schools include Goshen Elkhart Mishawaka South Bend Laporte Gary Hammond Michigan City Plymouth Valparaiso Crown Point.
Miss Pearl Lendon daughter of Mr and Mrs Samuel Landon married Frank J Casey son of Mr Thomas Casey at St Johns Church this afternoon. Rev Fr Hattenroth officiated. The couple will reside at 207 Cross Street and Mr Casey works at the Democrat office.

Mrs Grace Ashley from General hospital Elkhart will move home tomorrow. Mrs Anna Hattel, visiting son Charles Fo Untrel in Chicago, is seriously ill with pneumonia. Mrs Jacob Hattel’s daughter was summoned from the city by telegraph yesterday. Mrs Wageman of Dunlaps reports improvement after serious illness.
Funeral services at the New Paris Methodist church in New Paris for Miss Hattie Chilcote lieunday forenoon with Rev Lateport officiating. Interment follows in New Paris cemetery. William H Pearce’s funeral is set for tomorrow afternoon at 2 30 at the New Paris Methodist church with Rev Lamport officiating, interment in New Paris cemetery.
Lamar Hutchinson of Goshen will conduct the orchestra after securing a contract to furnish musicians. This marks the third season for the college orchestra. Mrs. Cora Miller Stahley of North Manchester will direct the choral society for the performance.
The Elshart County Anti Tuberculosis Society held an afternoon meeting at Dr J A Snapps office. Articles of incorporation were signed and the secretary was directed to seek a Chicago nurse to serve as a traveling nurse for the county.
