Irving Watt, longtime Leesburg area resident, died Saturday in Berrien Center Michigan after a long illness of typhoid fever. He was 65 and unmarried. Brother David Watt is well known in the city. Miraculous escape on freight train near Goshen
Lake Shore brakeman W. F. Lynch survived a 15 foot embankment fall after losing his balance on top of a box car as the fast freight passed Musser crossing three miles east of Goshen at 2 56 pm. He walked into Ligonier unharmed and later rejoined his train at Waterloo. Lynch, from Toledo, was returning to his post with a wife and children awaiting him. A gust of wind blew his hat away triggering the fall.
