Knox County farmer Hart, a substantial Knox counts farmer, was run down by a switch engine at the Central railroad crossing in Bicknell Indiana. He was atop a load of chipfeed with a team of mules when dragged forty feet. One mule crushed, Mr Keho injured with broken ribs and possible internal injuries.
Drofo de Becknell reports from Indianapolis that a State Board of Health meeting appointed a committee to organize an Indiana Public Wealth Association to affiliate with a national body. The group aims to combat diseases and invites all interested persons to join.
Mr and Mrs Henry FE Peston and their children plan a move from Goshen to Elkhart, indicating a family relocation during the period.

Lewis D. Cost of Goshen convicted by a Fond du Lac jury after a five hour deliberation for the December 21, 1918 murder of his wife Jessie Place-Cost. He testified a gruesome self defense narrative and admitted firing the shots after an earlier failed attempt on his own life. The 12 year old son Harold testified as key witness. Sentencing scheduled at end of criminal calendar.

The Demoor at Versailles reports a formal outline of the peace treaty presented to German plenipotentiaries yesterday afternoon. The outline appears in detail on page seven, outlining terms and conditions expected to shape postwar arrangements.
Mrs. Mary Gresh, born in Ohio January 5, 1860s, died at her Elkhart residence. She married Martin P. Grosh in September 1886, leaving three sons, one daughter, two brothers including Silas Roose of Wakarusa, and a sister Mrs Elizabeth Delcamp of Goshen. Funeral at Prairie Street Mennonite Church Filkhart at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
The watemobile belonging to tus leith was taken from in front of the Reformed church last night and when the culprits returned it they drove into the car of Mile Bradford, puncturing a tire and smashing a fender and bumper.

Associated Press report from Washington says winter wheat production in the current year is forecast at 508 015 000 bushels and harvested area at 45 535 000 acres with abandonment at 17.1 percent from the previous seeding. The forecast indicates yield near 100.5 percent of normal under existing conditions.
Jacob C. Stump age 70 died this morning at his home east of Goshen after heart trouble and dropsy. Survived by three brothers and three sons Henry F. Stump George W. Stump and Clinton H L Stump all of Goshen and four daughters Cora Wagner Sadie Ackerman Nettie Keyser Ida Nagle of Goshen and Knox. Funeral at 2 pm Sunday from his home and 2:30 pm from Church of the Brethren Fifth and Canton with Rev Meyers officiating. Burial at Southwest cemetery.
Sadie Grant asks the court to compel Ulysses Grant to provide support after he deserted in April. She states he earns seven dollars monthly and that he is able bodied. Grant worked for the New York Central Railroad until recently. Tillma H L Ravens of Elkhart filed a replevin suit seeking 100 dollars from Bert Moon of Elkhart over an automobile deal. The car is in the defendant’s possession.
Judge Montgomery of St. Joseph Superior Court in South Bend rules the Owlsoft drink establishment formerly a saloon owned by John Barrett to be a public nuisance and orders its closure unless Barrett posts a bond guaranteeing compliance with the law. The case notes years of illicit activity and enforcement actions.
Carl Diekel of Michigan City U4, an American soldier in France, died there of typhoid fever. He went overseas last September.
A daughter was born this morning to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fleck of East Goshen, adding a new member to the local family.

County Treasurer Reed reports Elkhart area receipts for 18 days ending May 5 totaling 168 677 51 with breakdowns for Elkhart City Concord Two and Osolo and Concord Townships. Earlier six years ago Elkhart collections were 90 000 and about 12600 transactions occurred. Total county figures for January 1 to May 5 await treasurer due to backlog in mail.
ELKHART May Bloomington was chosen for the 1920 encampment of the G A R of Indiana in the final session of the 40th annual convention here this morning. Officers for the ensuing year included Department Commander W F Medsker of Cambridge City Senior Vice Commander Frank Tonsley of Elkhart.
COPENHAGEN May 8 the Hungarian government has refused the armistice terms offered by Roumania and has decided to fight to the utmost, a dispatch from Budapest says.
LAPORTE May Tid reports a Tulsa letter claiming Mrs Belle Gunness is alive. The writer describes a woman near Lamar Colorado resembling Gunness and alleges a murder pattern tied to the Laporte case with men lured as husbands and vanished bodies. A photo and details prompt a personal investigation.
Paris reports that Peking’s communications are severed except for a single line to Siberia. Minister Reinsch informed Secretary Lansing that all wire out of Peking has been cut, leaving one surviving channel.
PARIS May 8 The Austrian peace delegation left Vienna last night and would arrive at St Germaine probably tomorrow according to the French foreign office briefing.

Mr and Mrs Warren Finney and their daughter depart Cleveland for Los Angeles Cal He is a former Goshen resident and now employed by the Goodrich Tire Co of Akron Ohio He has lived in Akron St Louis MO southern towns and New York City since joining Goodrich and was in Chicago yesterday en route to Los Angeles.
News of the death of Mrs Cassia Donges at her home in Myerstown Pennsylvania was received here. She was the mother of Mrs C K Staudt of Tacoma Washington, formerly of this city, and was quite well known locally.
Judge Wrigley of the Noble-Whitley circuit court declares the office of county assessor for Whitley county vacant. Harvey J. Harshbarger, the elected assessor, is not a freeholder.
The state highway commission orders a survey of the old angling road in Benton township. The commission, having reviewed both routes last week, appears to favor paving the original Lincoln highway route.
Dr. Albert Roy Mesick of South Bend formerly Goshen died at Epworth hospital in South Bend from pneumonia. His May ord carried seven thousand dollars life insurance.
The Chandler school announces its annual concert to be held Friday evening May 16. Tickets will go on sale soon as students prepare performances.
