In a saloon a fight in South Bend left 35 year old Alex Pallor with cuts to the face and neck and a broken jaw. He was attacked by unknown men during a Sunday drinking spree.
Undeveloped body of a premature infant was found by Joe Bowers and Joe Poor while fishing at a creek mouth near Winamac. The discovery prompts local authorities to investigate the circumstances of the birth and death.

About 25 000 applications for seats for the national democratic convention in St Louis Missouri starting June 14 have been received. The hall capacity is 11 000 with 5 000 delegates alternates and newspaper men. Martin H Glynn former New York governor will be temporary chairman and keynote speaker. Champ Clark of Missouri is expected to be permanent chairman.
In Indianapolis on May 8 a Special report notes a fierce wets versus drys battle. Drys claim they will retain all current territory and gain more. Upcoming elections include Haggerstown May 27, Columbia City June 1, and a tied Washington contest to be tried in Martin county. Muncie faces efforts to invalidate the last wets victory.

Survived by wife, two sons and a daughter. Funeral at Church of the Brethren on Wednesday at 1:30 PM, Rev. Kitson officiating. Burial in Berkey cemetery, Clinton township.
An alarm at ten this morning from box 25 East Lincoln avenue reported a roof fire at the Slaughter house occupied by R. J. Spillman and family at 132 South Sixth street. The blaze was extinguished easily with chemicals after rubbish burning worsened the fire. Little damage resulted.
A weather note claims rain on Easter Sunday will continue for seven consecutive Sundays. The forecast mentions rain on Easter and on the following Sundays. In Goshen there was no rain yesterday but a light shower occurred this morning with thunder and lightning.
Sightings across Go Shen on Saturday night and Sunday showed heavy liquor usage. Morning reports described empty beer bottles along store fronts and numerous intoxicated individuals observed in the area.

Funeral services for Mrs Priscilla Clutter were held this afternoon at 2 30 o clock at the home of her daughter Mrs Virginia Kent 618 South Sixth Street Rev H Robert Smith officiated and burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Robbers hit the William H. Smith general store in Wawaka near the post office. They entered through a back window, took clothing food and money, and dropped the cash register along the nearby N C tracks during their escape.
