Chicago architects Patton and Miller are finalizing reconstruction plans for the court house. They have measurements and expect drawings soon, aiming to start work by June 1 or at latest June 15. Cost details will come after plans are received.
Mr and Mrs Henry Alembach and family depart on Lake Shore train No 25 from LA for Santa Anna California to establish their new home. The nine year old daughter who died recently will be shipped there for interment.
The state Sahami parent of the G A R will hold its encampment in Anderson starting Wednesday May 13 for three days. Local preparations for delegates and visitors were reported as unusually elaborate. A deputy fish commissioner was reportedly assaulted at Wawasee lake Tuesday evening with no suspects yet identified.
Lint and Bechtel report Mary E. Mick has sold an East Goshen residence to Emiline Miller. Uniah Elliott of South Eighth Street is described as quite ill.
In South Bend and Mishawaka the grand jury and Prosecutor Clarke issue subpoenas for Mayor Fogarty and the board of public safety as part of an investigation into prisoners released without trials.
Joseph Earl Mallory charged with the December murder of groceryman John M Koonsman is granted a change of venue to LaPorte County. The South Bend records note the transfer as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
Parfitt Engraving Co, organized six years ago in Goshen, will relocate to Fort Wayne and reorganize as Fort Wayne Engraving Co with 14000 capital. William Parfitt as president. Wilbur Schmeykal as vice president. John W. Parfitt as secretary and treasurer. John Parfitt already arranged a Fort Wayne site and will return with Wilbur Schmeykal and Verne Blough to employ staff. William Parfitt will stay in Goshen to run a long-standing photograph gallery. Fort Wayne chosen as prime local market in this section.
Swihart Bros report a pipe broke off during sinking of the third test well in the Heefner creek bottom. The pipe was retrieved and a new start begun in the afternoon. Sinking of two new wells will take several days to complete.
The Fifth Avenue M E church held a reception in its parlors last evening for new pastor Rev J A Sumwalt and family to help him learn the congregation and fellow workers better. Also notes on Dr C C Sparklin funeral with Masonic rites, Joseph Haines funeral, a Shakespeare lecture at Goshen Public Library, Menonite school fundraising, and 1905 Modern Woodmen convention plans in South Bend with delegate Rev C Clampsell from Anderson.
Mrs. Mary Ellen Beyerle aged nearly 60 died at 8 30 this morning at 505 South Main after a long illness with heart trouble later dropsy. She was born August 5 1835 in Huntington county Penn and educated at Dickinson Seminary Wil Homeport. She wrote poems and Sunday school books and supported the Home Missionary Society. Surviving are her husband Dr H J Beyerle four brothers and one sister. Funeral set for Monday at 10 30 at the family home with Rev M J Magor officiating. Interment Oak Ridge cemetery.
Gentry Brothers dog and pony show arrives from Kendallville to Logansport. While dismantling tents Tuesday morning a riot erupts with a crowd of boys calling themselves the West Side Skipper gang. Men suffer facial injuries but no one is seriously hurt. no arrests made.
The home of William Stevenson in Wakarueza burned at about 2 30 in the morning. Stevenson woke to find the second story burning and escaped through a window. The fire's cause is unknown. the loss nears 500 dollars and is insured. The Middlebury high school commencement will be held tomorrow evening at the M E church with a fine program and several Goshenites expected to attend.
The Honorable Ezra D. Hartman of Auburn died yesterday. He served as judge of the Thirty-fifth judicial circuit covering DeKalb and Steuben counties and was in his second term.
A new 50 cent song titled When the Circus Comes to Town appears in Sunday Chicago American. The notice advises readers to leave orders with H L Wean for the tune.
The project reports steady progress on the new high school as the west wall of the foundation nears completion by the end of the day. Workmen expect to finish the wall section before quitting time this evening.

Dr D Kamerman has moved to this city and leased space in the Bartlemay block above Lott's Jewelry Store. The Bourbon newspaper continues to tout progress and the Silver Lake Record has installed a Haney gasoline engine from Milford Junction. W L Harper son of Zach Harper Elkhart county farmer and milk vendor narrowly escaped death in a runaway in Ligonier yesterday. His milk wagon overturned after his team frightened by Straits automobile. He was rescued with facial injuries and possible internal damage feared. Merchants note rising auto usage and insurance policies up to ten thousand dollars to cover damages.
Obituaries note Charles Harrison of Albion age 69 and Henry Kline age 87 near Spencerville. Other items include Huntington bond issue for a new city hall, a new trial for Oliver Reynolds in Adams County, and Albert Kaufman a trapped robber sentenced to reform school. Also reports of a Whitley County farmer's death, a coachable horse crash injuring two Huntington men, Edna Fitch returning from Alaska, Beesie Kelly’s fall at a Columbia City factory, Tyner fire losses totaling 2700 with insured and uninsured amounts listed.
Geo W Peoples born January 5 1541 in Green County Ohio died May 5 1903 aged 62 in Elkhart County Indiana. Enlisted September 10 1862 from Elkhart in Co D 100th Indiana Infantry. Discharged May 13 1863 at Benton Barracks Missouri due to liver disease from service. Survived by brother William Peoples and sisters Mrs S H Smith and Mrs Ira Boomershine all of Goshen with funeral May 17 in Millerburg under Rev Alex McLaughlin and G A R services.
