In Indianapolis on May 5 a federal court awarded a verdict for the Oliver Hotel company of South Bend in a $50 000 damage suit brought by Leslie Holcomb of Benton Harbor Michigan. Holcomb alleged a Turkish bath burst a steam pipe causing permanent scalds while he was in the hotel bath room. The defense argued Holcomb caused the pipe to burst and was intoxicated at the time. The verdict ends the case with possible appeal undecided by Holcomb’s attorneys.
