Frightful Runaway In Syracuse Area

A five year old girl, daughter of Jacob Halden of Milford township LaGrange County, was playing near a cook stove when her clothing caught fire. She fled to the yard as flames spread fueled by the wind and died a few hours later.

Jones Mrs Cathrine Jones died at home in Wakarusa after several months illness aged sixty six. Born in New York she moved to Michigan in 1868 later to Elkheart and then Wakarusa where her husband ran a hardware business. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1842. Remains taken to Hillsdale Michigan for burial.
