D C Clapp a traveling salesman from Owosso Michigan shot himself at Hotel Wattle Goshen at 12 10 today after a morning purchase of a 32 caliber revolver. He arrived Tuesday and spent time in the office and writing room before the fatal moment. He died at 12 55 with doctors unable to revive him. He was a prominent Owosso businessman who had recently suffered financial setbacks and lost patent rights. His death follows a period of nervousness and discouraged business prospects. The inquest is set for tomorrow.
